Where to stay?
For those delegates requiring accommodation, the OxIMUN secretariat strongly recommends the Oxford Youth Hostel Association, and Oxford BackPackers which have been booked out by the Secretariat for the duration of the conference. Requests for accommodation provided by the Secretariat are available via the delegation application form.
Hostel Location
Located next to Oxford Train Station, roughly 5 minutes walk from Gloucester Green Coach Station and a 10-15 minute walk from the conference venues, we are confident that these purpose-built hostels will provide delegates with comfortable accommodation for the duration of their stay in Oxford.
Cost and amenities
The price of accommodation at the Youth Hostels is yet to be finalised, but will be around £25 per delegate per night. Included in the cost delegates will enjoy the additional benefits of a buffet breakfast, reading and meeting rooms - perfect for early morning resolution writing! All rooms are en-suite and may be single rooms, twin rooms or dormitories for 4 or 6 people. We will try to allocate rooms so that delegations can stay together but some people may need to share rooms with delegates from other universities.
Security
All rooms and dormitories at the Oxford YHA can be locked and lockers are available in each room (padlocks not provided). Luggage storage facilities are also available for delegates who require them due to early arrival or late departure.
Booking
The Oxford YHA and BackPackers have the capacity to accommodate just under half of OxIMUN guests, so we urge delegates to book early to avoid disappointment. Other accommodation options, including another hostel in Oxford, are given below.
Delegates wishing to stay for longer at the hostel should inform the Secretariat. We are unable to guarantee availability at the youth hostels for further dates, but if contacted sufficiently early, we may be able to accommodate your needs.
Other Accommodation Options
Oxford has a wealth of hotels, guest houses, and hostels should you not secure accommodation through OxIMUN. Oxford's other hostel is called Central Backpackers, and information can be found here. If you would prefer to find other accommodation such as hotels the Oxford City website provides a map and links to many forms of accommodation.
