Please wait, you are being connected to the Oximun website.
I am delighted to welcome you to the sixth annual session of the Oxford International Model United Nations conference. Set in several of Oxford's most beautiful colleges, OxIMUN offers delegates a unique opportunity to debate in the stunning surroundings and rich cultural environment of one of Europe's oldest universities. For OxIMUN 2008, we expect over 400 delegates from nations as varied as the Netherlands and New Zealand, bringing with them an unrivalled diversity of views and backgrounds.
This year's conference will innovate both in its format and in its content. In order to uphold the pledge made by Ban Ki-Moon, the conference will focus on the Millennium Development Goals and the 'Bottom Billion' debate will start on Friday afternoon, giving you more opportunity to make fruitful conversations, and will be followed by Global Village, this year flavoured with a charity twist. Finally, we hope to provide you with concrete feedback on the weekend's work.
My aim in organising this conference is to prove once again that the UN, and its model, are not empty talking shops, but that by gathering dynamic and committed people from around the globe, solutions to the world's problems can be drafted. I'm looking forward to meeting you in November.
